Indigenous Peoples’ Day Chicago

Indigenous Peoples’ Day Chicago is an annual, artistic, and cultural event to showcase Native American musicians in an attempt to change Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day officially in the City of Chicago. The concert brings together the Native American, Indigenous communities, and the general public in Chicago to celebrate a more inclusive holiday. In future years, we hope this event will continue to solidify artistic and cultural pride in Native American and Indigenous communities in Chicago for many generations. In 2019, we started the yearly celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. On October 8th and 9th at Chop Shop, we will hold our fifth annual free two-day music festival. We feature top-tier Indigenous performers from all over North and South America. The Chicago Reader recognized the performance’s success in 2021 and gave it the Best of Chicago 2021- “Best concert for a cause” award.
